An Ode To Nature

The tourists sat, engrossed with their phones.

Once in a while, the cranes flew by us.

We walked alongside the sea.

The old men sat as a group, talking and playing chess.

The sea which looked like a blue bed, suddenly turned red.

It was time for the sun to set.

Patches of leaves were scattered in the sea.

Various articles and fishes were sold in the street.

Us, now tired, returned back to the boat.

And now, all the ships started to float.

God is the artist who makes such wonderful paintings

Which no camera except eyes can capture its beauty

The clouds drifted, and the sky and the sea turned red as if they were blushing.

Hues of red and orange spread everywhere

I only wish my mind could remember it the way as it was.

A ship carrying cargo made its call, and the fishermen started to rush.

Little by little, they all became specks under the sun

I could stare at the ocean as long as I live

But unfortunately it wasn’t how it was meant to end.

I turned back and I could see us slowly but steadily drifting further away

And along with us, the cranes started to sway.
